As an Access Control Officer in a healthcare location, you will manage entry points, verify access credentials, monitor visitor activity, and help maintain an orderly environment for patients, staff, and guests. You will provide outstanding customer service, communicate clearly, and use technology to document security-related activity. This driving position requires a valid driver’s license. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, patients, contractors, and delivery personnel while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access control policies, and emergency response activities.
- Monitor access points and verify credentials, visitor registrations, and authorization requirements before permitting entry to designated areas of the healthcare location.
- Operate access control systems, issue and collect visitor badges, maintain accurate entry records, and report access concerns or irregularities according to site procedures.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with appropriate site contacts and emergency responders as directed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entrances, restricted areas, and the facility perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
Minimum Requirements:
- A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
- At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Comfortable use of a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
