As a Security Officer - Plant Gate Control in Franklin, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a busy manufacturing and industrial location, you will help manage entry and exit points, greet employees and visitors, verify credentials, and document activity while supporting site procedures. You will conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and communicate clearly with on-site teams. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to employees, contractors, drivers, and visitors by carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a manufacturing and industrial location.
  • Staff an access control post and help manage entry and exit by verifying identification, screening visitors, issuing visitor credentials, and maintaining visitor and contractor logs per site requirements.
  • Help control vehicle and pedestrian flow at gates and entrances by checking deliveries, reviewing shipping and receiving documentation as required, and directing traffic to designated areas.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and access control systems and report irregular activity per site-specific protocols.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, documenting actions taken, and coordinating with onsite management and/or emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, including checking doors, docks, fenced areas, and restricted zones for unusual conditions and reporting maintenance or access issues.
  • Complete required reports such as shift activity logs, incident reports, and access control records with clear, factual details.
  • Support key control processes such as issuing, tracking, and recovering keys and/or access badges when assigned.
  • Follow post orders for restricted areas and help enforce site rules related to personal protective equipment requirements, prohibited items, and authorized routes for visitors and drivers.
  • Operate radios, phones, and other communication equipment to relay information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts in a timely manner.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
