Security Guard - Access Control - Morning Shift

As a Security Guard - Access Control - Morning Shift in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and manage entry points at a busy logistics and distribution location, conducting routine patrols and maintaining a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents. You will interact with visitors and staff, verifying credentials and providing guidance as needed while delivering outstanding customer service. Your role is essential in upholding the secure and welcoming environment that our clients rely on, all while embodying our values of agility, reliability, and teamwork.

What You'll Do:

• Monitor and manage access control points to help to deter unauthorized entry into the logistics facility.
• Verify identification and credentials of individuals entering and exiting the distribution location.
• Provide customer service by greeting and assisting employees, visitors, and/or vendors in accordance with site-specific policies and procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the logistics facility and its perimeter to help to deter suspicious activity and identify potential security-related hazards.
• Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and/or irregularities in a timely manner.
• Support Allied Universal and client management in carrying out security-related procedures for emergency response situations as required by site policy.
• Maintain a visible presence to help to deter unauthorized activity and promote a secure environment within the logistics and distribution setting.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
