Security Officer - Afternoon Shift

As a Security Officer Visitor Verification in Indianapolis, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Screener at a busy logistics and distribution location, where you will help monitor entry points, perform screening activities, and support access control processes. In this people-first role, you will remain visible, provide outstanding customer service, and communicate clearly with employees and visitors. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to visitors, drivers, and staff by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, access protocols, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to the location.
- Screen personnel, packages, shipments, and/or vehicles entering or leaving the location in accordance with post orders and documented security-related procedures.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and unusual activity in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report observations to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership as needed.
- Monitor entry points, loading areas, and other assigned zones to help support authorized access and help to deter unauthorized activity within the location.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, noting conditions, reporting concerns, and documenting security-related incidents and/or policy violations.
Minimum Requirements:
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Loss prevention experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
