Security Officer - First Shift Job in Indianapolis, Indiana

As a Security Officer Entry Inspection in Indianapolis, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener with Allied Universal at a logistics and distribution location, you will monitor access points, screen people and materials, and support security-related procedures. You will remain visible to help deter incidents, communicate professionally with employees and visitors, and report observations. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Screen employees, visitors, packages, and property entering or leaving the logistics and distribution location in accordance with established procedures.
- Operate screening equipment and conduct inspections of personal belongings, shipments, and restricted-access areas as assigned.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of screening points, loading areas, and the business perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
Minimum Requirements:
- Loss prevention experience is preferred.
- Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
