Security Officer Gated Community Job in Irvine, California

As a Security Officer Gated Community Access Control in Irvine, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. As an Access Control Officer in a residential community, you will help manage entry points, verify access credentials, and provide welcoming, professional support to residents, visitors, and vendors. You will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and communicate clearly with the community team. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to residents, guests, vendors, and visitors by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify visitor and vendor authorization, maintain visitor records, and communicate access concerns to appropriate site contacts.
- Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of residential common areas, parking areas, entry points, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
- Document daily activities, incidents, and security-related observations in accordance with site procedures and Allied Universal requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Experience with access control and badges is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- The ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
