Security Officer Transitional Shelter

Join Allied Universal as an unarmed officer at a shelter location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support residents, staff, and visitors with professionalism and care. In this role, you will respond to concerns, document activity, and deliver strong customer service through teamwork, reliability, and integrity.

What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to residents, guests, and staff by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-related policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a shelter location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns to site leadership and/or emergency services when needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the interior and exterior of the location, including common areas, entry points, and perimeter spaces, to help to deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and visitor activity in accordance with post instructions, helping to verify authorized access and/or directing individuals to the appropriate staff or service area.
- Support a respectful environment by observing resident and visitor interactions, communicating professionally during conflicts, and following established procedures for trespassing, loitering, and other policy-related issues.
Minimum Requirements:
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
