Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Rotation

As a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Rotation in Jamaica, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Security Officer at a shelter location, where you will monitor activity, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents. In this people-first role, you will support residents, staff, and visitors through strong communication, dependable service, and teamwork, while bringing integrity, reliability, and a caring approach to each shift.

- Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out site-specific procedures, shelter location policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting security-related events according to Allied Universal guidelines.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including common areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter areas, noting unusual activity and reporting concerns to site contacts.
- Monitor access to the location by observing arrivals and departures, verifying authorized entry when required, and helping to deter unauthorized activity and/or disruptions.
- Support a respectful environment by interacting professionally with residents and guests, providing directions and information, and reporting maintenance, behavioral, and/or security-related issues to the appropriate personnel.
Minimum Requirements:
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
