Security Officer Access Specialist

As a Security Officer Access Specialist in Lacey, WA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer in a busy retail distribution location, where you will help manage entry points, verify badges and credentials, monitor site activity, and support a professional, welcoming experience for visitors and staff. This role combines customer service, technology, and security-related awareness in a team-driven environment built on integrity, reliability, innovation, and a caring culture that puts people first.

- Provide customer service by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a retail distribution location.
- Monitor entrances, exits, gates, and credential checks to help control authorized access for employees, visitors, and delivery personnel.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting security-related concerns and reporting unusual activity.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the building, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter, with working environments and conditions varying by location.
- Assist with visitor management, vehicle entry screening, and communication with site contacts regarding security-related procedures and/or operational concerns.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
