As a Security Officer - Hospital Access Control in Laguna Hills, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Security Officer at a healthcare location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help discourage security-related incidents, and support access control while assisting staff, patients, and visitors with professionalism. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points, observing for unusual activity and conditions that may help to deter security-related incidents.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical-related disturbances, disruptive behavior, and unauthorized access concerns.
  • Support access control by monitoring entrances, verifying credentials when required, and guiding visitors to appropriate check-in areas based on site procedures.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, and/or other security-related systems as assigned, and communicate observations to the appropriate personnel.
  • Write clear, detailed reports of patrol activity, incidents, and observations, and participate in shift briefings and pass-downs.
  • Assist with crowd control and queue management during peak visiting hours, special events, and/or emergency department activity, using de-escalation techniques when appropriate.
  • Work closely with nursing units, facilities staff, and local responders as needed, relaying timely information and following established response protocols.
  • Perform additional security-related duties as assigned by site leadership to support daily operations in a healthcare environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Loss Prevention experience is preferred.
  • Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
  • Guard Card/License is preferred.
  • Customer Service Experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
