As a Security Officer - Armed Corrections in Lakeland, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Corrections, and more.

As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal in a corrections environment, you will play a vital role in helping to maintain a secure atmosphere for all individuals at the location. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols, staying highly visible to help deter security-related incidents, and responding promptly to situations as they arise. In this armed position, you will be entrusted with upholding the highest standards of professionalism, while delivering exceptional customer service and communication. Job Schedule:

What You’ll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Carry out security-related procedures and site-specific policies in a corrections environment while providing customer service to clients and visitors.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for corrections locations.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and maintain order within the location.
• Remain alert to unusual activities or conditions and communicate observations through proper channels as required.
• Assist with access control, verifying identification and monitoring entry and exit points to help to deter unauthorized access.
• Participate in emergency response activities as appropriate for an armed patrol post within a corrections setting.
• Maintain a visible presence and interact professionally with staff, visitors, and/or detainees as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Graduate of a Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or equivalent is required.
• Possess an Armed Guard Card or License is required.
• Possess a Corrections Officer License is required.
• Possess a Law Enforcement Officer License is required.
• Have at least 2 years of law enforcement, military, or corrections experience or possess a college degree.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
