Armed Security Officer - Access Control Job in Las Vegas, Nevada

As a Security Officer Armed Access Control in Las Vegas, NV, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Armed Security Professional supporting a government location. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, monitor access points, respond to security-related concerns, and provide professional customer service and communication. This role requires an armed guard card or license and offers the opportunity to deliver through teamwork while acting with integrity in a caring, reliable, and innovative culture.

What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
- Perform armed patrols of assigned buildings, parking areas, courtyards, and perimeter areas on a regular and random basis to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy violations.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and applicable procedures.
- Monitor access points and help maintain controlled entry and exit for authorized personnel, visitors, contractors, and vehicles in accordance with site requirements.
- Complete accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift logs; communicate observations and relevant information to site contacts, Allied Universal leadership, and public agencies as appropriate.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience is required.
- At least one year of security-related experience is required.
- An armed guard card or license is required.
- Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
