As a Security Officer Access Control Enhanced Part Time in Leesburg, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.
Pay Rate: $26.06 / Hour

How This Role Works:
- Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
- Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.
This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service to all visitors, employees, and/or contractors by following site-specific access control procedures, credential verification steps, and visitor management protocols at a technology-focused location.
- Monitor entry and exit points, review identification and/or authorization status, and help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas such as server, equipment, and operations spaces.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or emergency responders as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate activity, visitor, and incident records, report unusual conditions, and support compliance with established security-related policies and post orders.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, observe for unusual activity or operational concerns, and report maintenance, access, and/or security-related issues promptly.
Minimum Requirements:
- Possess a college degree.
- Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
- Type at least 40 words per minute.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
