Security Officer Screening Specialist Job in Lexington-Fayette, Kentucky

As a Security Officer Screening Specialist in Lexington, KY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Screener in an educational setting, you will help maintain a welcoming, secure environment by screening individuals and belongings, monitoring access points, and reporting unusual activity. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate professionally with students, staff, and visitors, and support a positive campus experience. At Allied Universal, you will work with an agile, reliable, innovative team that puts people first and acts with integrity.

What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or guests while carrying out site-specific screening procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
- Screen individuals and personal belongings at designated access points using approved screening equipment and procedures, escalating prohibited items or concerns according to site protocols.
- Verify identification, monitor entry activity, and maintain appropriate access control for campus facilities and events.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate campus personnel and/or emergency responders as needed.
- Complete required logs, screening documentation, and incident reports accurately and promptly while maintaining a professional presence at the assigned location.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least one year of security-related experience is required.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
- X-ray screening experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
