As a Security Guard - Armed Patrol Officer Full-Time in Los Angeles, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, respond to alarms and calls for service, and document observations with clear, professional communication. You will deliver customer service while supporting a caring, people-first culture. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to riders, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Maintain an armed, professional presence while following all licensing, training, and use-of-force guidelines and post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of transit facilities, platforms, stations, parking areas, and perimeter areas; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Observe and report suspicious activity and/or policy violations to help to deter prohibited conduct and support orderly operations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disputes, disorderly behavior, trespassing, and unauthorized access.
  • Control access to restricted areas by checking identification, credentials, and/or access lists as required by post orders.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, radios, and other systems when assigned, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal supervision and site leadership.
  • Write clear, timely incident reports and shift logs, documenting observations, actions taken, and follow-up needs.
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical personnel when needed, providing accurate information and scene support.
  • Provide direction and assistance during evacuations, service disruptions, and other emergency conditions, guiding people to designated areas per site procedures.
  • Perform checks of doors, gates, locks, lighting, and other physical conditions during patrols, and report maintenance concerns through the appropriate channels.
  • Operate and/or support screening and bag check procedures when assigned, following site rules and respecting individual rights.
  • Assist with crowd management during peak periods, special events, and service changes, helping to reduce congestion and conflicts.
  • Follow confidentiality requirements and protect sensitive operational information encountered during assigned duties.
  • Participate in briefings, training, and post updates, and comply with Allied Universal standards, site policies, and applicable laws.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess an Armed Guard Card and/or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
