As a Security Officer - Armed Rail Transit Rover in Los Angeles, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Transportation, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer supporting a rail transit location, you will conduct routine foot and/or vehicle patrols, stay highly visible, and respond to incidents and requests for assistance. You will document security-related activity, communicate clearly with staff and visitors, and help to deter unwanted behavior through presence and professionalism. You will work with an agile, reliable, and innovative team that puts people first and always acts with integrity.

Pay Rate: $27.58 / Hour

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to the public and site personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct armed foot and/or vehicle patrols of government facilities, transit-related areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Maintain a visible, professional presence while carrying an assigned firearm and related equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies, licensing requirements, and post orders.
  • Monitor access points and assist with access control by verifying credentials, directing authorized visitors, and/or documenting entries and exits as required by site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical-related calls, disturbances, and/or suspicious activity.
  • Observe and report conditions that may impact operations, including broken doors or gates, unsecured areas, and/or damaged property, and notify appropriate site contacts.
  • Operate radios, phones, and/or other communications equipment to coordinate responses and request assistance when needed.
  • Complete security-related reports and logs with clear, accurate details, including incident reports, patrol activity, and/or evidence documentation when applicable.
  • Support crowd management and public assistance during service disruptions, special events, and/or high-traffic periods as directed by post orders.
  • Interact with local law enforcement and/or emergency services when required, preserving the scene and providing statements in line with site procedures.
  • Follow use-of-force guidelines and de-escalation practices as trained, using only the level of force permitted by law, licensing, and post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess an Armed Guard Card and/or License.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Baton permit is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Be comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
