What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a public-facing government location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or public agencies as needed.
- Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout galleries, public areas, administrative spaces, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas, verifying access permissions and reporting suspicious behavior, policy violations, and/or maintenance concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist with crowd management, visitor directions, and special event support while maintaining awareness of security-related concerns and following post orders at all times.
Minimum Requirements:
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- A guard card and/or license is preferred.
- A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
- Alarm panel experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
