As an Armed Security Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and respond professionally to site needs. Position Type: Full Time
Pay Rate: $22.26 / Hour
Job Schedule:
This is a full-time position. You can expect to work a minimum of 30 hours per week. The schedule for this position has not been assigned yet. If you are selected to move forward, your schedule will be determined as you progress through the hiring, onboarding, and training process. Your manager will work with you to assign a schedule based on business needs before your start date.
What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at government facilities.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access to restricted areas, verify authorization as directed by site procedures, and report suspicious activity or unauthorized access attempts.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following applicable site procedures and reporting requirements.
- Prepare accurate reports and maintain required activity logs, communicating observations and incidents to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
Minimum Requirements:
- Possess an Armed Guard Card/License.
- Possess a DD214 with Honorable Discharge OR Associates Degree/60 College Credits OR Police Academy Certificate OR Corrections Academy Certificate.
- A Guard Card/License is preferred.
- Experience with Handcuffs/Pepper Spray/Baton is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
