Security Officer Full Time Second Shift Hours Job in Minneapolis-St. Paul-Bloomington, Minnesota

As a Security Officer Full Time in Minneapolis, MN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a dynamic educational location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control activities, and provide outstanding customer service to students, staff, and visitors. You will communicate clearly, respond to security-related concerns, and contribute to a welcoming environment through teamwork, integrity, and Allied Universal’s caring culture.

What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, communicating observations to appropriate campus personnel and/or emergency responders.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
- Monitor access points and observe activity throughout assigned areas, documenting incidents, hazards, and unusual conditions according to established procedures.
- Assist with directions, escort requests, and general information while maintaining a courteous, professional presence in an educational environment.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least one year of security-related experience is required.
- The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
