Security Officer Ferry Terminal

As a Security Officer Patrol Security Associate in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a government transportation location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and assist visitors with professionalism and clear communication. In this dynamic setting, you will contribute to daily operations through teamwork, integrity, and a people-first approach while delivering reliable service in a fast-moving public environment.

What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to visitors, passengers, and staff by following site-specific procedures, access protocols, and security-related policies at a government transportation location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and emergency situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report details to site contacts and/or public agency representatives as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of terminals, waiting areas, entry points, perimeter locations, and other assigned spaces to help identify unusual activity and/or maintenance or security-related concerns.
- Monitor pedestrian traffic, observe restricted and public areas, and help to deter unauthorized access, disorderly conduct, and/or prohibited activity through visible presence and routine observation.
- Document daily activities, incidents, and notable conditions, and communicate clearly with supervisors, client representatives, and/or first responders when appropriate.
Minimum Requirements:
- Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
- Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
