Security Officer Food Market Job in New York, New York

As a Security Officer Food Market in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer in a retail location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will support access control, assist with loss prevention awareness, and deliver exceptional customer service through clear communication. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to customers, team members, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location, including sales floors, entryways, receiving areas, parking areas, and perimeter.
- Observe and report unusual activity, potential hazards, policy violations, and maintenance concerns to appropriate site personnel.
- Help to deter theft, trespassing, and other unauthorized activity while maintaining a welcoming presence for customers and staff.
Minimum Requirements:
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- A Guard Card or license is preferred.
- Loss prevention experience is preferred.
- A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
