Security Officer Food Market Job in New York, New York

As a Security Officer Food Market in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a retail location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. You will support access control and assist with security-related concerns while representing Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, and caring culture. Through teamwork and integrity, you will help create a welcoming environment for customers and staff.

What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to store team members, shoppers, and visitors while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related responsibilities.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail sales floor, entrances, receiving areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity and potential concerns.
- Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response procedures when appropriate.
- Monitor access points and observe activity around the location to help deter unauthorized access, theft-related activity, and other policy violations.
- Document observations, incidents, and security-related activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
Minimum Requirements:
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
- Loss prevention experience is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
