Security Officer Full Time Desk Access -Museum Job in New York, New York

As a Security Officer Full Time Desk Access Coordination in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Front Desk Security Professional at an educational location, you will be the welcoming first point of contact for students, staff, visitors, and guests. You will manage access, verify credentials, monitor entry activity, respond to security-related concerns, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. What You'll Do:
- Provide exceptional customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and vendors while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related policies at an educational location.
- Staff the front desk, greet visitors, verify access authorization, maintain visitor records, and direct guests to appropriate campus areas.
- Monitor access points, entry activity, alarms, cameras, and communication systems, reporting unusual activity or facility concerns according to site procedures.
- Respond to incidents, visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; contact appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders as needed.
- Support a welcoming academic environment by providing directions, answering general questions, and helping to deter unauthorized access through professional front-desk presence.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least one year of security-related experience is required.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- A state, county, or city-issued license for security-related work is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
