Security Officer Full Time Government Agency Job in New York, New York

As a Security Officer Full Time Patrol Access Control in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a government location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, monitor access points, and report security-related concerns. You will provide professional customer service and clear communication while helping maintain an orderly environment. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and members of the public while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related policies at a government operations location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and emergency situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post instructions and notification protocols.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, access points, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual conditions.
- Monitor access to assigned areas, verify authorized entry as directed, and report unauthorized activity or suspicious behavior to appropriate personnel.
- Prepare accurate activity, incident, and maintenance-related observation reports and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Access control or badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
