Security Officer Full Time Performing Arts Center Patrol Job in New York, New York

As a Security Officer Full Time Performing Arts Center Patrol in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a premier performing arts location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming experience for guests, staff, and visitors. You will conduct routine rounds, communicate professionally, and respond to security-related concerns with integrity and care. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to guests, patrons, artists, staff, and/or visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Respond to incidents, guest concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to established procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of performance venues, public areas, entrances, backstage spaces, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, assisting with entry procedures, directions, and crowd-flow support during performances, events, and other cultural programming.
- Document incidents, observations, and/or policy violations accurately and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
- The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
