Security Officer Medical Facility Access Control Job in New York, New York

As a Security Officer Medical Facility Access Control in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control activities, and provide welcoming customer service. You will communicate professionally with staff and visitors while responding to security-related concerns. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a public health location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities in accordance with site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, entrances, public spaces, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site requirements; assist with directing visitors and maintaining orderly entry procedures.
- Prepare accurate reports and maintain required logs regarding incidents, patrols, observations, and other security-related activities.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have at least one year of security-related experience.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
