What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and agency partners while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government-operated shelter location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical emergencies, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site personnel and emergency services as directed.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, including entrances, common areas, grounds, and perimeter, to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor access points, verify authorized entry as directed, maintain awareness of visitor activity, and report suspicious behavior, hazardous conditions, and policy violations to site leadership.
- Prepare accurate incident reports, patrol logs, and daily activity documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
- Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
- Have at least one year of security-related experience.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
