As a Security Officer Part Time Performing Arts Center Patrol in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a premier cultural institution, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for guests, artists, and staff. You will respond to security-related concerns, communicate professionally, and deliver exceptional customer service. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to guests, performers, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a performing arts venue.
- Respond to incidents, guest concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to established procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of public areas, performance spaces, entrances, exits, backstage-adjacent areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points and assist with directing guests, verifying authorized access where applicable, and reporting unusual conditions or maintenance concerns.
- Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities accurately while maintaining a professional presence in a cultural institution environment.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have at least two years of security-related experience.
- The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
- Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
- Possession of a state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
