Security Officer Transitional Housing Facility Job in New York, New York

As a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Incident Assessment in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Security Officer supporting a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide professional customer service and communication. You will contribute to a welcoming environment while supporting site operations through teamwork, integrity, and a caring, reliable approach that reflects Allied Universal’s values.

What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and agency partners by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned areas, building perimeters, entrances, common areas, and exterior grounds to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, documenting relevant information and reporting concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
- Prepare clear and accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and patrol logs while maintaining professional communication with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership.
Minimum Requirements:
- Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
- Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
