Security Officer Transitional Shelter Job in New York, New York

As a Security OfficerTransitional Shelter in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such asTransitional Shelters. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a Transitional Shelter, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and respond to security-related concerns with professionalism. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related responsibilities at a residential location.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of residential common areas, entry points, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and unauthorized access.
- Monitor access points, verify visitor and vendor authorization in accordance with site policies, and maintain accurate visitor and incident documentation.
- Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel and emergency responders when needed.
- Communicate observations and relevant information to site management, Allied Universal leadership, and incoming personnel through clear reports and shift handoffs.
Minimum Requirements:
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
- FO2 Fire Guard beneficial
