Security Officer - Utilities Badge Specialist

As a Security Officer - Utilities Badge Specialist in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Professional, you will help to deter security-related incidents and manage access control at a utilities location. Your responsibilities include monitoring entry points, conducting routine patrols, and maintaining a visible presence to support a secure environment. You will also deliver exceptional customer service and clear communication, embodying Allied Universal's values of teamwork, integrity, and a people-first mindset while protecting critical infrastructure.

What You'll Do:

• Assist with access control procedures at the utility location, verifying identification and credentials of individuals entering and exiting the premises.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas to help to deter unauthorized access and maintain adherence to site-specific policies.
• Provide customer service by assisting visitors, employees, and contractors with inquiries and directions as needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and its perimeter to help to deter suspicious activity and report any irregularities.
• Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and activities according to company and client procedures.
• Collaborate with Allied Universal management and site personnel to address security-related concerns and support overall site operations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
