Security Officer Patrol Access Screening Job in Newark, New Jersey

As a Security Officer Patrol Access Screening in Newark, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Unarmed Security Officer at a logistics and distribution location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support access control activities. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while working with a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, and committed to integrity.

What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and/or personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of loading areas, access points, parking areas, buildings, and perimeter areas, reporting unusual conditions or security-related concerns.
- Monitor access to the location by observing entry and exit activity, verifying credentials or delivery documentation as required by site procedures, and directing visitors and drivers appropriately.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and notifying appropriate personnel or emergency services as needed.
- Complete accurate reports, logs, and other required documentation related to patrols, incidents, access activity, and security-related observations.
Minimum Requirements:
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
- X-ray screening experience is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
