Security Officer Full Time Perimeter Patrol Job in Norfolk, Virginia

As a Security Officer Full Time Perimeter Patrol in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a university location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming campus environment. You will respond to concerns, communicate professionally with students, staff, and visitors, and deliver exceptional customer service. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus guests by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate campus contacts and emergency personnel as directed.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, parking facilities, walkways, and perimeter areas to help identify and report security-related concerns.
- Monitor access points and observe campus activity, reporting suspicious activity, hazards, damaged property, or policy violations according to site procedures.
- Complete accurate daily activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
