Security Guard - Patrol Operations Job in Normal, Illinois

As a Security Officer Patrol Operations in Normal, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Auto, and more. As a Security Officer at an automotive location, you will conduct routine vehicle patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, monitor assigned areas, and report security-related concerns. This driving post offers the opportunity to provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while supporting a caring, agile, reliable, and innovative team that delivers with integrity.

What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors at an automotive manufacturing and operations location by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, medical events, and other critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders when needed.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of manufacturing areas, parking areas, entry points, offices, and the perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy concerns.
- Monitor access points and verify authorization for employees, visitors, contractors, and deliveries in accordance with site procedures.
- Prepare accurate reports and maintain clear communication with Allied Universal leadership and site personnel regarding incidents, observations, and security-related activities.
Minimum Requirements:
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Loss prevention experience is preferred.
- Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
- A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
