Security Officer - Access Control
As a Security Officer Access Control Patrol in Northlake, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a busy retail distribution location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will support access awareness, assist employees and visitors with professional customer service, and contribute to a caring, team-oriented culture built on agility, reliability, innovation, and integrity.

What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a retail distribution location.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate relevant details to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility, including the perimeter, parking areas, shipping and receiving zones, and other assigned areas, as working conditions may vary by location.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials when required, and document deliveries, departures, and/or unusual activity in accordance with site policies.
- Help to deter unauthorized entry, property loss, and/or policy violations by maintaining a visible presence and reporting security-related concerns in a timely manner.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
