Security Officer Access Control Specialist

At a busy chemical and petrochemical location, Allied Universal officers in an access control role help monitor entry points, verify credentials, and support security-related procedures for employees, visitors, and deliveries. This position combines strong communication, professionalism, and customer service with routine patrols and a visible presence that helps discourage incidents, while working with an agile, reliable team that puts people first and acts with integrity.

What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or contractors by following access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical and petrochemical location.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials, screen authorized individuals and/or vehicles, and maintain accurate access records to help support site access procedures.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or unusual activity in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate relevant details to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the location, including perimeter areas, gates, and critical access points, noting conditions that may require security-related follow-up.
- Assist with enforcing site rules for deliveries, visitors, and/or contractors, and report policy violations, hazards, and suspicious activity to help support orderly operations.
Minimum Requirements:
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
