As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control, and provide outstanding customer service to guests, staff, and visitors. You will communicate clearly, respond to security-related concerns, and contribute to a caring environment through teamwork, integrity, and the agile, reliable, innovative approach of Allied Universal.

What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and/or community partners by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a shelter setting.
- Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; document and report observations, incidents, and policy violations according to site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior areas, exterior grounds, entrances, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor access points, verify authorized entry as directed, and assist with visitor management while maintaining a respectful, service-oriented presence.
- Maintain awareness of shelter operations and support de-escalation efforts by communicating professionally with individuals experiencing challenging circumstances.
Minimum Requirements:
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Access control or badge experience is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
