As a Security Officer - Federal Visitor Screening in Orlando, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Screener with Allied Universal at a government health and family services location, you will welcome visitors, support orderly entry, and help identify security-related concerns through screening and clear communication. You will maintain a visible presence, document activity, and coordinate with site staff to help reduce disruptions. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out post orders, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Screen and direct visitors, employees, and vendors in accordance with access control procedures, including checking identification and/or appointment verification as required.
  • Conduct entry point screening activities such as observing for prohibited items, monitoring walk-through and hand-held screening equipment when assigned, and escalating concerns per policy.
  • Maintain an accurate log of visitors, deliveries, and incidents, and complete reports and documentation in a clear and timely manner.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate internal personnel and/or public agency resources as directed.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, and other security-related systems when assigned, and report irregular activity according to site procedures.
  • Provide directions, general information, and assistance with wayfinding while maintaining control of entry and exit points.
  • Communicate professionally with the public and coworkers, supporting de-escalation and conflict management techniques when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter when assigned. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
  • Support emergency procedures such as evacuations, shelter-in-place, and lockdown processes as outlined in post orders, including accounting and/or access restriction tasks as directed.
  • Work closely with Allied Universal management and site contacts to address operational needs, follow post orders, and participate in required training and briefings.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
