Security Officer - Unarmed Shelter Patrol

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Shelter Patrol in Orlando, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated areas within a shelter location, promoting a secure environment for everyone present. Your presence will help to deter unwanted activity while providing customer service and clear communication to all individuals on site. You will conduct routine patrols, interact with guests and staff, and address security-related concerns as they arise. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients and guests by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner within the shelter environment.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the shelter location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity.
• Observe and report any suspicious activities or situations that may require further attention to support a secure environment for occupants and staff.
• Collaborate with shelter staff and residents to address concerns and maintain a welcoming atmosphere.
• Follow all Allied Universal protocols and client-specific guidelines while on duty.

Minimum Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
• Possession of a guard card or security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
