Allied Universal is seeking professional, reliable, and responsible Security Guards to provide security services at a college campus in Ottawa, Ontario.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus facilities. Security Guards must be familiar with site-specific policies and procedures, respond appropriately to emergencies, and provide professional customer service at all times.
Position Details
Position: Security Guard – College Campus
Location: Ottawa, Ontario
Employment Type: Part-Time and Casual / On-Call
Pay Rate: $ 21.50/hour
Schedule: Various shifts available based on operational requirements, including evenings and weekends
Key Responsibilities
Maintain a visible and professional security presence throughout the college campus.
Conduct regular interior and exterior patrols of the facilities.
Monitor entrances and exits to control access to the building.
Verify access authorization for students, employees, visitors, and contractors in accordance with established procedures.
Prevent security incidents, identify suspicious behaviour, and report any concerns.
Respond to security incidents, conflicts, and emergencies in accordance with site-specific procedures.
Enforce campus policies, rules, and regulations.
Monitor security systems and report any malfunctions or irregularities.
Maintain a safe environment and contribute to risk prevention.
Provide courteous and professional customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
Prepare incident reports and document relevant events accurately.
Communicate and collaborate with supervisors, college management, and emergency services as required.
Perform other security-related duties as assigned based on operational needs.
Qualifications and Requirements
Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence.
Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Basic computer skills and comfort using security systems.
Demonstrated sound judgment, vigilance, professionalism, and discretion.
Ability to remain calm and professional when handling challenging situations.
Physically able to stand and walk for extended periods.
Availability to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
Legally authorized to work in Canada.
