Security Officer Full Time Patrol Unit

As a Security Officer Full Time Patrol Unit in Palo Alto, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Patrol Officer in a premier retail location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and support a welcoming experience through strong customer service and communication. In this role, you will work with an agile, reliable team that puts people first, values innovation, and acts with integrity while delivering through teamwork.

What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to clients, guests, and store personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to a retail setting.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and communicating with site contacts and/or local responders as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the sales floor, common areas, entrances, exits, and exterior perimeter to help identify unusual activity and/or policy concerns.
- Monitor access points, visitor movement, and high-traffic areas to help support loss prevention efforts, crowd management, and orderly operations during business hours and special events.
- Assist with reporting hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations observed during patrols, and help support emergency procedures such as evacuations and/or medical responses when appropriate.
Minimum Requirements:
- Comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
- Loss prevention experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- A state, county, and/or city issued security license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
