Security Officer Bicycle Patrol - UPenn Job in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

As a Security Officer Bicycle Patrol in University City, Philadelphia, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a university setting. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas by bike, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming campus environment. You will respond to security-related concerns, communicate professionally with students, staff, and visitors, and deliver exceptional customer service. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and other campus community members by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, medical emergencies, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, parking facilities, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
- Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
- Complete accurate daily activity reports, incident documentation, and shift handoffs in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least two years of security-related experience are required.
- Ability to ride a bike is required.
- Ability to ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred.
- Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
