Security Officer - Access Control Job in Plant City, Florida

As a Security Officer - Access Control in Plant City, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a retail distribution location, you will monitor entry points, verify access credentials, and help maintain a secure environment for employees, visitors, and operations. You will remain visible, communicate professionally, and provide outstanding customer service while supporting security-related procedures. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to clients, employees, drivers, and visitors by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Monitor entry and exit points at a retail distribution location, verify credentials, maintain visitor and contractor records, and control access to restricted areas.
- Screen inbound and outbound vehicles, coordinate with receiving and shipping personnel, and document deliveries, pickups, and driver arrivals in accordance with site procedures.
- Respond to access-control incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to established protocols.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, parking areas, loading docks, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least one year of security-related experience is required.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
