As a Security Officer - Government Patrol in Plymouth, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a government courthouse location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, perform routine rounds, and stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support staff and visitors with strong customer service, clear communication, and timely reporting, while working with teammates to keep operations running smoothly. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to all visitors, employees, vendors and/or contractors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access requirements and emergency response activities at a government facility.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with disturbances, medical situations, fire alarms and/or evacuation support as directed by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of assigned interior areas and exterior perimeter, including public entry points, corridors, stairwells, parking areas and building grounds; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points and help to deter unauthorized access by verifying credentials, directing visitors to the proper area and following visitor processing requirements.
  • Operate and monitor security-related systems and communications as assigned, such as radios, telephones, alarm panels, CCTV and access control systems, and report unusual conditions.
  • Prepare written reports and maintain activity logs regarding patrols, incidents, policy violations and/or maintenance concerns, using clear and accurate documentation.
  • Provide visible presence in public-facing areas to help to deter disruptive behavior and assist with de-escalation when appropriate, requesting law enforcement or emergency services when needed.
  • Support court-related operations by helping maintain orderly public areas, assisting with line management, and coordinating with onsite staff regarding restricted areas and movement within the facility.
  • Perform checks for unsecured doors, propped entrances, malfunctioning lighting and other hazards, and notify appropriate contacts in accordance with site-specific procedures.
  • Follow Allied Universal and site-specific policies, including confidentiality requirements, while communicating professionally with the public and local partners.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 6+ months of security experience is required.
  • Applicants must be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
