As a Security Officer - Armed Bank Patrol in Portland, ME, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Financial Institutions, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a financial institution location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to concerns, document activity, and deliver professional customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients at a financial institution location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Maintain an armed post in accordance with applicable laws, licensing requirements, and Allied Universal policies, including proper handling and secure storage of duty equipment.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
  • Monitor access points and controlled areas; verify credentials, manage visitor entry, and/or assist with screening procedures as required by site policy.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disputes, suspicious activity, alarms, and/or medical events, and notify appropriate responders per post orders.
  • Observe and report unusual conditions, potential hazards, and/or suspicious behavior; document observations in daily activity logs and incident reports.
  • Support cash handling and secure transport processes when assigned, such as escorting authorized staff within the facility and maintaining situational awareness during high-risk movements.
  • Operate security-related systems and equipment such as radios, CCTV, and/or alarm monitoring platforms, and communicate timely updates to supervision and client contacts.
  • Assist with emergency and evacuation procedures, including directing occupants and maintaining clear access for responding personnel when required.
  • Maintain a professional, neat appearance and customer-focused demeanor while enforcing site rules and policies in a respectful, consistent manner.

Minimum Requirements:

  • - Have at least 1 year of armed security, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • - The client requires proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • - Be at least 21 years of age.
  • - Customer service experience is preferred.
  • - CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • - Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • - Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • - Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • - Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • - Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • - A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
