As a Security Officer - Armed Manufacturing Patrol in Portsmouth, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more.

As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a vital role in helping to maintain a secure environment within a dynamic manufacturing and industrial location. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols throughout the site, maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and responding promptly to any situations that arise. This is an armed and driving post, requiring you to carry out your duties with professionalism and integrity while operating a vehicle as needed. You will interact regularly with employees and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication to support a positive experience for everyone on site. Job Schedule:

What You’ll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the manufacturing and industrial location and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious behavior.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and any unusual occurrences.
• Operate and/or monitor security-related equipment such as surveillance cameras, radios, and alarms as required by site protocols.
• Interact professionally with employees, visitors, and/or contractors while maintaining a visible presence.
• Remain alert and prepared to respond to emergencies and/or incidents as directed by Allied Universal protocols and site-specific procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have at least one year of experience in armed security, law enforcement, or military roles.
• Must possess an armed guard card or license as required by state and/or local regulations.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
