Special Police Shift Supervisor

Job Description:

As a Shift Supervisor at our government facility, you will provide law enforcement-level security while ensuring the safety of employees, contractors, and visitors, supporting government operations.

$36.04 / Hour

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies.
• Enforce applicable laws, policies, and security procedures.
• Manage access control, identification checks, and visitor screenings.
• Coordinate with government personnel and local law enforcement as required.
• Prepare accurate incident and daily activity reports.
• Ensure that contract-required training and screening elements for security personnel have been met.
• Ensure quality of service and contract compliance by regularly inspecting security personnel and their job performance when assigned to his/her shift.
• Perform other operations and related functions (e.g., review and maintain incident reports, assist in preparation of security surveys and post orders).
• Respond to client requests.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
• Provide directions and instructions to subordinates regarding the performance of their duties.
• Make productivity and cost reduction recommendations to management
• Make recommendations for physical security surveys and post orders.
• Make recommendations concerning disciplinary action/commendation decisions pertaining to security personnel.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Successful completion of Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) and passed the BLET state exam, and a valid law enforcement officer license.
• Successful completion of the employing agency’s in-service firearms training program.
• No felony convictions or certain misdemeanor offenses as outlined by the North Carolina Department of Justice.
• Successful completion of medical examination and drug screening.
• Successful completion of psychological suitability assessment by a licensed professional.
• No felony convictions or certain misdemeanor offenses as outlined by the North Carolina Department of Justice.
• Willingness to undergo additional training as required by the government agency.
• Successful completion of a ninety (90) day probationary period.
