As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol in Reading, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas within the hospital location, helping to deter security-related incidents and create a welcoming atmosphere. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients and guests by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using appropriate communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and surrounding areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and maintain a visible presence.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas within the manufacturing and industrial location to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious behavior.
• Perform access control duties, verifying identification and credentials of individuals entering restricted areas as required by site protocols.
• Complete incident and daily activity reports accurately and promptly, documenting any unusual occurrences or security-related issues.
• Collaborate with local law enforcement and/or emergency responders as needed, following established procedures for escalation and communication.
• Maintain proficiency in the use of assigned security equipment, including firearms, in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific guidelines.
• Participate in ongoing training and drills to remain prepared for emergency response and/or security-related incidents within the location.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of armed security, law enforcement, or military experience is required.
• Act 235 qualification is required for positions in Pennsylvania only.
• A valid firearms permit is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
