As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Specialist in Reading, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. Join Allied Universal as an Armed Patrol Officer at a busy hospital, where you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support access control and site response activities. This role combines professionalism, communication, and customer service while reflecting our agile, reliable, and innovative team culture that puts people first and acts with integrity.

- Provide customer service to clients and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at an industrial location.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns to site leadership and/or emergency personnel as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, production areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help identify unusual activity, policy violations, and/or potential hazards in varying working conditions.
- Serve in an armed post by maintaining authorized equipment in accordance with site policies and Allied Universal guidelines, while using sound judgment during routine duties and/or emergency situations.
- Monitor access points and help to deter unauthorized entry, trespassing, theft, and/or disruption by following post orders, verifying credentials when required, and communicating professionally with employees, visitors, and contractors.
Minimum Requirements:
- Possess at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
- Act 235 qualification is required for positions in Pennsylvania only.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
- A valid firearms permit is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
