Security Officer Full Time Weekday Perimeter Patrol Job in Reading, Pennsylvania

As a Security Officer Full Time Perimeter Patrol in Reading, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Security Officer supporting a government education location. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, assist visitors and staff, and communicate observations through reports and technology. Pay Rate: $17.55 / Hour
Security Experience:
- Candidates must have a minimum of 6 months of relevant security experience (C112). This experience should demonstrate the ability to handle security-related tasks and responsibilities effectively.
Technical Proficiency:
- Candidates must be comfortable using a computer or tablet (B204). Proficiency in basic software applications and the ability to navigate digital platforms is essential for job performance.
Customer Service Experience:
- Candidates must possess prior customer service experience (B219). This experience should reflect the ability to interact positively with customers, resolve issues, and provide exceptional service.

What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, calls for assistance, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established campus and public-sector procedures.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor access points and observe activities throughout the assigned location, reporting unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain required logs for incidents, patrols, and other security-related activities.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Comfortably using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
